Milky Oats Tincture
Milky Oats (Avena sativa) are made from the immature Oat seed, picked at a very particular and short-lived part of its life cycle when it contains a white, “milky” liquid. This liquid can only be preserved by tincturing the freshly picked seeds in alcohol or glycerine. Milky Oats are a highly nutritive medicine with an affinity for the nervous system. Traditionally, Milky Oats are taken during or after times of exhaustion, stress, fatigue, and convalescence to strengthen and support the nervous system. They are best taken long term. Milky Oats have a mildly sweet and sometimes salty taste, and tend to be slightly warming. They are often regarded as a medicine that is gentle yet strengthening, and suitable to many people.
